Let me get this out of the way first. I haven’t yet had the pleasure of playing The Witcher: Wild Hunt, but thanks to one Crackpot Theory posted by a certain Kirk Hamilton, my ADD laced brain has not been able to stop thinking about CD Projekt Red’s next title Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is based off of the popular tabletop RPG Cyberpunk that debuted in 1988 that let players handcraft their own genetically augmented character from a variety of different rolls.

There have been three released editions of the tabletop since its inception: 2013, 2020, and V3. Cyberpunk V3 was released in 2005 and is currently the standard set of rules that players abide by but it seems that CD Projekt Red is taking there inspirations from second revision, Cyberpunk 2020, which claims to lend itself to be played on the street level of a hard boiled film noir 1980’s action flick with a high body count.

Think Bladerunner meets The Terminator where everyone has access to the T-1000’s body parts.

Given that the year in the name of their title is 2077 CDPR has jumped the timeline a head a few years and very little is known about its plot since the whole team has been highly focused on the finishing The Witcher: Wild Hunt, but now that it’s out to consumers on May 19th that leaves room for the rest of us to sit back and wonder what kind of augmentation we’d want most when the game arrives. Let the waiting begin!

Until then, here’s the trailer to tide you over.
